Default Timing tables question regarding B5913 and B5914

    Hello.

I have mapped both low and high timing tables. With the results of these 2 maps are these the numbers that are suppose to be running in the tune tool?

In other words when I have a log recorded with these tabkes and it shows what is being used I just copy and paste these numbers into the tune B5913 and B5914 tables?

    Thanks

    Louis

The PCM will always initially drive off the high octane table. When knock retard is sensed and depending on the settings on how this knock is applied will determine where the PCM looks up timing. If you log the PID ASPARK, 100% represents full high octane and 0% would represent the low table. The PCM blends between the two depending on the value of ASPARK. Idealy the low octane table shouldn't be active at all.

    Default spark table

    Hello.

So are you telling me the answer is yes that thes numbers in the scan log file for B5913 and B5914 should be the ones in the tune tables?

Or are you telling me I only need to log the pid aspark and adjust only the high timing table?

    Thanks

    Louis

    Louis,

The numbers you logged come directly from the tables B5913 and B5914 with SPARK % determining which table has the most weighting.

If KR is zero, then ASPARK will be 100% which means B5913 Hi Octane table is what the PCM is commanding.

If you log the pids that start with "EST_" you can see if anything else is trying to modify timing (e.g. traction control, torque reduction, etc...)...

but, if no modifiers are kicking in and KR is zero, then B5913 Hi Oct is what you see.
