He has the 96-99 harness im sure for the CMFI now the 99 and up for the ecu you guys are talking about isnt it made for a different style intake also though. Says the 99-up intake is SFI.

The vehicle's speedometer will dictate what type of gear/sensor will need to be in the transmission. If the gauge will be electronic you will need to install a reluctor and sensor on the transmission. This signal can go to the PCM for better driveability and a clean output to the electronic speedo.

So I guess if we use the stock guages I can just use a cable and the ECU wouldnt have to have that signal?

The 0411 PCM will want the speed sensor input regardless of what speedo you use. I'm sure the engine will run, but the VSS signal is an important input. Why not use a 4l60e or 80e trans that the 0411 will control and have the speedo converted internally to electronic?

Good recommendation Lextech. The electronically shifted transmissions are much easier to set up and more plentiful. You can then use a "Cable X" adapter to drive the speedometer. Not to promote but this is it. http://www.abbott-tach.com/cablex.htm

Ok the fuel pump it has is a walbro gss340 no lines or anything are ran yet. Not sure what psi the vortec system needs to run at but I guess ill prob want to regulate it before the hookup at the intake manifold.
    Some info I found
    GSS 340 (high pressure 255):

    244 lph @ 40 psi
    217 lph @ 60 psi

The Vortec has its fuel pressure regulator inside the intake manifold. I would recommend replacing the entire fuel injector/regulator/fuel block assembly if it has been sitting for a while, especially if it was open to the elements. It is available as a dealer item only part number 93441235. This assembly has the new design injectors that are not the poppet style.

Why replace it? Do the seals do bad Im sure sure he will not like the idea of spending 240 dollars on that.
