    Default Changing stock OS

Stupid question time, can I flash any of the earlier than 05 OS's to my E40? As long as it was meant for an E40 that is.

Well probably, but I E40 wasnt used before 05. Its an LS2 ECM, and the LS2 came out in 05...

The reason I ask is i have been trying to set up AutoVE with an unlisted OS when it comes to upgrading the OS and I am having all sorts of isssues trying to set up for autoVE. You may have seen my other thread.

I'm not defeatist and will endeavour to finish the tutorial if it kills me, but just in case i need re-animating, I want to be sure I can flash an older OS which is well documented and upgradable, like to OS 5 (TPS vs MAP).

I'm in India now, i go home for three weeks next week, I'd like to win this one over xmas, if the weathers mild enough, otherwise i'll be in the pub lol

Well man problem is the E40 2Bar never went public I dont think, and theres no OS5 that will work with the ECM you are talking about. Not trying to discourage you, but Im pretty sure you cant flash an LS1 OS (to get COS 5) to your LS2 E40, plus the LS1 COSs are 512kb flash not 1MB (although Paul/Ross mentioned something about having made one a little while ago?).
