Default BB Logging Update Dec 31, 2007

    Download these two files:

    http://download2.efilive.com/Softwar...752_035_70.zip
    and
    http://download2.efilive.com/Softwar...016_15(31).zip

The ReadMe_First.rtf file has been updated to list the new features/options in this release.

If you have already upgraded to the new BB logging bootblock, then you do not need to (in fact you cannot) upgrade the bootblock again. Once it has been done, you only need to update the V2.05.xx firmware if/when new firmware is released.

There are two new firmware files:
    1. FSProgV2_05_15(31).efw that you must program into FlashScan,
    2. ACProgV2_05_15(31).efw that you must program into AutoCal (if you have an AutoCal unit), using the programming option in EFILive_Explorer.

IMPORTANT: AFTER programming the new firmare, you should delete ALL *.pmm files from the config folder in FlashScan and ALL files from the config folder in AutoCal (if you have an AutoCal device). Then copy in the new ones provided in the Config folder of this update. Failure to do so may cause FlashScan and/or AutoCal to fail when an attempt is made to select a vehicle.

The version numbers of the firmware files will not change between now and the final beta version. That means you will be able to re-program older firmware files during the remainder of the beta test period. The date of the firmware file will continue to be updated and it will provide the only true "version" reference and should be quoted when you post problems with any particular firmware "version"

    Regards
    Paul

I figured I would post first. I tried BBL logging with my 2002 LS1 Manual, and no go. I hit the Display Data or Record Data... and nothing happens. I dont even get to the list of parameters. I cannot capture a trace file either because the logger doesnt start. No errors, nothing.

I am going to try reflashing, reformatting and recopying the PMM's again.

I will report back how it goes.

Once again, My car is a:
    -2002 F-Body LS1
    -OS version #12212156
    -VIN # 2G2FV22G322155xxx

UPDATE: Tried it again. Reflash. Reformat. Recopy PMM's. Got nadda. No logging or viewing of any data. Also, no tracing.

Something else I noticed, is in the EFI Explorer, once in awhile, I get an Error $0101 when trying to install a splash, get the time, or refresh config space contents.

    Damn.

That is strange, I don't understand this problem yet. I need more info but I don't know what to ask for yet...

Possibly when FlashScan is in low power mode, it will take a bit longer to (wake up and then) reply to the PC than normal (you will get $0101). Just retry the operation. I will need to make EFILvie_Explorer "aware" that FlashScan may be in low power mode and to wait a bit longer.

Well, its only 6.5 hours until next year - I've got the social life of a stick. Me and Jim Beam might not even make it to midnight tonight :(

How sad is this: I promised the kids they could stay up until midnight. But since I'm soooo tired I thought I might just wind the clocks forward 2 hours so they can celebrate new year at 10:00pm and then get them into bed early (and none-the wiser) Am I a bad dad ???

Do it Paul, that'll give you two extra hours to keep working on updates for us EFILive users. :P

Will test the new update on my long ride to work in the morning.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

btw, I now have 24 hours until the new year, what a time difference. wow

I've been getting a seemingly random $0101 since FW14. The frequency of the $0101 has gone way up with FW15(31). In my case, I have low power mode disabled.
