    Default GMPP e67 LS3

I performed a few different searches but didn't find the info I needed.

Looking at setting up a crate LS3 from GMPP, will be building the harness and flashing the ecm/tmc. This is my first experience with the GMPP realm so maybe these are obvious answers. Sorry if they are.

First off, I see 2 different tune files on the dropbox page, one is OS 12638778 the other 19211212. They both have "manual" in the file name, one shows fan settings and the other doesn't. I don't think these will work for us.

We are needing something for a crate LS3 and 4L70e trans and discrete fans if possible. I also see info alluding to the GMPP setup using a TC2 tcm which I am not familiar with. We were planning to use a t42 if possible.

Any guidance for what direction we should go with this thing? We have a variety of e67s and e38s on hand along with T42s. We also have access to the MDI2 system so we can change stock base files around fairly easily but I don't think this is any help for the GMPP files.

We have had success with a 2008 vette LS3 file and merging with is the 2008 e38/t42 Van 6.0/4L80e in the past, should we go this route except a 4L70e file for the T42? We appreciate any guidance thats available. Thanks!

I've tuned quite a few of the GMPP crate and controller kits. 12638778 is the most current OS, and it is used in the E-Rod, 480, 525, and LSA configurations. GM labels the last four of the VIN with the release/iteration of a particular OS. The last few I've seen are REL7 - release 7. GM hard codes the temps at 208 and you cannot apply the fan patch to the newer 12638778 OS. They do all come with discrete fan settings though. Most of the GMPP controllers are designed for the Connect and Cruise trans controller packages which communicate through the CAN bus and logged through the GM software. I've never ran a standard production vehicle T42 with a GMPP ECM controller kit.

If you want to run an E67, you can run a TBSS 07-09 OS with the T42. If you want to run an E38, you can run the truck 08 OS 12617631 which comes with discrete fans and will talk to a T42.

Thanks LastCall. Very good info there. We have both sitting around, e38 and e67 so we just need to make a decision I guess. This is obviously going in a swap so some of the creature comforts do come into play. It seems like the e67s can do cruise control sometimes but otherwise I tend to lean towards the e38.

Something else I've been meaning to look into is if there is any crossover between a 2010 camaro or vette file and a 2010 truck 4.8 4L60e. This could be a way to get a 2010 e38 to easily fall in line with an LS3 and 4 speed. It would at least be a good start to a base file.

I haven't done a 2010 E38/T42 combo before. I would think you can get the truck E38 to work with the T42 since they match from the factory. Just not sure if the 2010 Camaro E38 will talk to the truck/van T42. Usually if the same OS exist in the Camaro and truck platforms, you can make it work.

I moved the GMPP 525 hp E67 Manual file into a 2014 Camaro SS Manual. Worked flawlessly and have integrated the OE Controls box for AC control and Key (crank) - Starter relay function through the ECU and use the Cruise Control function as well.
I didn't like how function(less) GMPP has made the standalone configuration. I talked with the Chevrolet performance engineers about adding AC, cruise and start features to the ECU and they won't modify it saying it carries liability if they did. :(

So you overwrote the GMPP tune file with a 2014 Camaro OS? Or the other way around?

Just an FYI to the original poster.

The reason the GMMP file shows as a manual is because it is designed to be used with a stand alone Trans controller for autos or it can be set up for a manual trans with out the need for different calibrations.
The Automatic transmission controller that GM uses in a GMPP set up is manufactured by PCS Powertrain Control Solutions. When you buy the GMPP trans controller package, They give you a disc with the software and a cable so you can adjust the Parameters for the transmission and make it work with your swap.
