    Default Having trouble with E-Explorer

    Hi gang,

I'm sure it's something simple I'm missing here...

Upgraded my V2 to 2.4.70 using the old firmware flash utility. Bootblock is 2.4.10.

Explorer/Control panel does not recognize my V2 (says device not connected, acts like it's not even there at all). I have tried updating my USB drivers and have tried on both a Vista box and XP box.

I can only assume that some aspect of my firmware is a revision or more behind -- perhaps the bootblock? Based on the threads and documentation I've read it appears some new functionality has been added into the firmware and/or bootblock that Explorer needs to function properly... but as far as I can tell I can only update the bootblock through the new Explorer.

    What'd I miss/do wrong?

    Thanks,
    Tony

Just a guess but you might need to upgrade the boot block to 2.5.04. There is a Readme First.rtf file at http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=7015

This explains how to upgrade the boot block.

Sounds like the same problem I am having. I did the firmware update on mine before the bootblock. The bootblock screwed everything up.

Thanks -- I think you are 100% correct. The bootblock was outdated (as indicated by my post). I read the readme first doc several times but apparently I was downloading this from another thread -- the doc I had is different and does not include bootblock upgrade instructions.

Bootblock is updating now, wish me luck
