No VIN when reading PCM w/ tune tool!!

I got a 98 L31 vortec. Stock PCM, when I read PCM w/ the tune tool the VIN doesn't show up, just shows N/A in the VIN line. When I check the PCM info w/ the tune tool it shows up, what gives? Wondering if anybody has ran into this before. I've searched all over the forum and found nothing on it.

Not that big of a problem I guess, just when I have a log and tun file open no reference is made to the tun file graphs/tables from the log because it says there is a VIN mismatch, and I know there isn't. Is there any way around this?? It's always been like this for this truck, never a problem w/ 99+ NBS, so maybe its just a 98-00 OBS vortec thing.

It's common with the 98-00 Vortec trucks. VIN is stored in a separate area of the PCM.
