Default No PE with 2006 Vortec...Please Help

    Hey guys,

This is my first later model Vortec tune and I am having an issue.

The big problem is there is no drop in A/F Ratio. I have tried the PE tip in TPS, PE based on RPM, PE based on ECT, etc and she lays at 14.7 all the way across the RPM no matter the load on my dyno.

What the hell am I missing here?

The OS is 12587811 and the Cal is 12587806.

If you need me to send the cal file let me know.

Also the customer had a SuperChips on there previously and it does the same thing. Also the same thing with the factory calibration as well.

    Thanks in advance guys!

This is a common problem. Of the 2006s I've done, I've only encountered this on two recent 2500HD trucks, not on any of the others. One of them wouldn't go into PE at first, but on a subsequent run it had no problems. The other still won't go into PE.

Back to back runs on the dyno to get heat in the motor and no change.

I am going to try a few things tomorrow...wish me luck.

Make sure there is no pe delay, alot of trucks have a delay for pe mode ck B3608 should be 0

It's not the PE delay. Some other parameter/ function is prohibiting them from entering PE at times.

    Are you logging commanded AFR?

Yes...it was 14.68 from start to finish. Never left Closed Loop.

I found the issue. I need to go back through my changes to find the actual point in which it would see commanded OL fuel.

Went back to the factory tune and it again would not leave Closed Loop.

Sorry guys, but I am incredibly busy or I would post it up right now...but I will share my findings as soon as I can.

    Bare with me.

If you do a search on this same exact subject--you'll find that about a year ago i encountered the same problem---Long story short--It was never resolved and i never did figure it out--Even with the new V2 and the new 7.5 software and downloads it still never shows that the PE mode is working--
I tip toed around the issue with my customer---not telling him exactly what was happening because he would never understand--but he did tell me the truck is running great and has a ton of more power--So i have to assume it's working but just not registering on the flashscan

I have to think that the scan tool is showing correctly. I have one log from a customer showing PE not enabling (2006 LQ4 2500HD), then the next log shows it enabling. All of the signs pointed to the scan tool registering properly (Commanded AFR, NBO2 voltage, spark advance).

In these cases it might be best to setup B3605 CFOL to give the suitable enrichment in the last 3 or 4 columns (i.e. as MAP ramps to it's WOT value).
