    Question Locked E40 ECU

    Hello all!

What I have on my dyno for today is a gorgeous 1960 vette
    on a custom 1996 chassis running with a 2005 LS2 out of a GTO.
It has the E40 ECM and has been tuned by a Tony Duncan using LS2-Edit.
It is now my turn to finish the tune but the ECM has been locked.
What are my options? I wish to use the EFI Live V-2
The first issue to resolve is that the CNK sensor has not been learned.
There is a P0622c- Generator F terminal issue that seems to be dead (0%)
reading at ALT F PID and won't clear the code. The CNK Set up won't function until I resolve the alt issue.

Any Ideas on the Locked ECM Is where I need to start,

Thanks in advance _ The SpinDoctor

    Default

What you can try is when you read (or program) the ECM, select "Try Alt Keys" tick box on the read / program screen. It 'might' work, it has been known to work on some LS2Edit locked ECM's.
Failing that, you could get the original tuner to unlock it, failing that contact Wait4Me on this forum, he could unlock it for you but it can take up to a week to have this done.

    Cheers,
    Ross

    Default Update

I found a build error in the harness preventing the Alt F-circuit from working.
It now functions with a 51% in the PID window.
However, I am still unable to complete the CNK learn. I get an "injector or ignition fault" error.
Any Ideas on what this fairly generic fault would be?
Is there a chance that the ECM being 'locked' prevents me from performing this operation?
Maybe I have been doing it wrong.

I will try the above mentioned 'unlock' trick and let you know how it goes.

This car is attracting people to my bay like flies to road kill.

    Default Unlock - not yet.

I do not have the 'tick' box for try alternate keys on my version.

I did talk to Tony Duncan (he was previously an engineer with FAST systems).
Very nice and helpful out of Mississippi. He said that he would unlock it for me if I send him the unit.
Had lots of info to share and informed me that he just got his EFI Live set up
and was learning how to use it.
He said the tune he put on is a nice street set up that they found works well for these conversions.
As long as I figure out how to set the crank sensor it should be good to go.
We believe the sensor may be buggered. It is easy enough to install another one and retry.
