New laptop / questions

I just got a brand new Gateway laptop to replace my old Dell laptop which is dieing. I transferred over all the EFILive stuff. The firmware was already updated in the Flashscan so I didn't worry about it. I tried to install the latest driver recommended for 7.5 but it did not work (failed). However, when I inserted my old EFILive cd, it installed a driver and reads/flashes fine. But the recommended version for Windows Vista is 2.02.04, and I seem to have 3.1.2.0 So what the heck is going on? When I try to update the driver now, it says I have the latest/best. I go right for the recommended driver for 7.5 in "readme". (Oh and of course I had XP before)

On a side note it also says I only have 5 flashes when I actually have several hundred. (??)

Anyone? I already flashed my first 3 trucks with the new laptop yesterday, with no apparent problems related to the driver. I just don't want to have an outdated driver, there must be a reason for the new one.
