Default Transmission shifting / Rev limiter

I am tuning an 02 Camaro, The car has a 4000 RPM stall converter and hit the rev limiter before it shifts 1-2, so I put the rev limiter to 6800 RPM and changed the shift point 1-2 to 6200, but I still hit the limiter? Why? Should I just keep lowering the shift point?

You need to meet 2 conditions for the shift. RPM and MPH. Try raising the wot shift MPH a little.

I think you've got it backwards there Jeff. With a loose torque converter, you need to adjust the MPH condition down, as there will be more tcc slip causing RPM to be higher.
