As Lennart said, with limitations, it would be crude but might do the job. Complete fan control is more complex that the calibrations available for the output control.
Also, if you do hook it up, make sure you are switching the fan relay, not the fan directly or you will be up for a new ECM!.

Assuming that you are removing the stock cooling fan (don't mean to be nosy )...don't plan on using the LLY to pull any significant loads if you go electric. FWIW
