Default Tuning on the dyno, PIDs to log...

I will be doing some tuning on dyno this weekend to get my timing figured out and get a decent baseline before I start internal engine modifications.. I was wondering what PIDs you guys are using. I am on COS3 so I don't need any MAF PIDs, all NA, no Nitrous or boost. Thanks in advance, OH and I will be using my wideband for AFR readings...

    Log these:

    GM.DYNCYLAIR_DMA
    GM.DYNAIR
    GM.AFR
    GM.KR

    SAE.SPARKADV
    SAE.IAT
    SAE.ECT
    SAE.MAP
    SAE.RPM
    SAE.TP
    SAE.VSS

    If running CL:
    SAE.LONGFT1
    SAE.LONGFT2
    GM.HO2S11
    GM.HO2S21

    If running A4:
    GM.GEAR
    GM.TCCMODE
    GM.TFT
    GM.TFMPRS

Those add up to 23 channels.

And your wideband CALC AFR and CALC BEN pids (those don't use any channels).

Keep your channel count no greater than 24 (see bottom of PIDs tab).

    Cheers,
    Joe

    Default Clarification...

Any of these mode combinations can be run with any OS:
    OLSD
    OLMAF
    CLSD
    CLMAF

Running a COS also lets you run these modes (in addition to the above):
    SOLSD
    SOLMAF

(SOL = semi open loop, where B3647 cells are set to stoich AFR).

So running a COS does not imply you're running any paritcular mode... just so you know.

    Cheers

Thanks, I will be in open loop, and I talked to the owner and we decided to do 2nd gear pulls, cause I did not want to spin my truck up to 140+, so that means my TC will be unlocked...

    What about Injector Duty Cycle?

Default Injector duty cycle (I had forgot about IBPW/INJDC)...

To log injector duty cycle, you have to log these:
    GM.IBPW1
    GM.IBPW2

That's 4 channels (you would have to remove some other pids).

Then include these (these use the 2 pids above and SAE.RPM):
    CALC.INJDC1
    CALC.INJDC2

    Those use no channels.

Thanks, I had forgot about those.

Could I just log 1 of the injector pulse width PIDS instead of both? They should be reading roughly the same correct?

Yes, you could just log 1 set.
