    Default Obituary: my birdie

We had him since he was 6 weeks old, 18 years ago...

He learned to recognize the sounds of our cars and would let us know when the significant other was about to drive up...

He loved the Spongebob Squarepants theme song, chirped along to it...

He loved oranges and sharing my meal...

He tried his best not to go on me when I had him with me...

He always responded when I said "Come here"...

He was a cool little guy...

My condolences for the loss of your pet & friend of 18 years. It is amazing how attached we can get over a long period of time.
    Cheers Mick

Sorry to hear that man. Lost our family cat 6 years ago who was with my parents from the early 80s and was a month shy of 18.

Random fact, he was almost as old as I am...

Thats a shame joecar. I was discussing it with my better half and we got talking about pet Cockatoos that have been known to live to over 100 years!

    Cheers,
    Ross

Yes, the lifespan is approximately proportional to the size/weight of the bird...

    Green Boy was not quite 4 inches (not counting his tail) and only a few ounces;
a Cockatoo would seem like a giant next to GB's little dimensions...

Most others of his kind/size that I heard of lived about 10-12 years, so he was doing good...

    Sorry to hear that Joe.
Yeah Ross....Cocky's quite often become family heirlooms/hand-me-downs.

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T
MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE
    DUCT TAPE.
IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

    Joe,

Sorry to hear about your loss.

My mother still has a yellow naped amazon bird that is going on 23. I still can't believe how long they live. I have had 2 German Shepards since then and on my third.

Are you going to get another one?
