Default Virtual PCM Tuning on Laptop

Further to the post on Realtime Tuning without a RoadRunner.
Would it not be possible to have a virtual PCM Emulating the PCM running on the laptop which is processing the data realtime that's streaming from the PCM?
When the tune was optimized it could be burnt back to the PCM.
    Does this sound feasible Paul?
There seems to be already most of the information that is required coming to the PC via the Bidirectional Controls.

    Regards,

    Neil.

I guess that's something like the HP Tuners "RealTime tuning" works, allowing for a table to be altered via real time update ...

I don't think the vitual PCM would work too well. Biggest issue being you're tweaking a tune that has no effect on the actual operation. Not to mention data comms would be slow given the number of parameters that would need to be streamed from the live PCM.
