Default BB Logging beta update: May 03, 2008

    IMPORTANT
IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO,
YOU MUST UPDATE FLASHSCAN'S BOOT BLOCK TO V2.05.08(0426)
    BEFORE
YOU ATTEMPT TO UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE TO V2.05.16 OR LATER.

Under no circumstances should you attempt to use boot block V2.05.06 (released March 26, 2008).
See this link for more info on what is wrong with V2.05.06
    http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=7804

    Download here: http://download2.efilive.com/Softwar...ay_03_2008.zip (19Mb)
This download includes and supersedes all previous BBL beta downloads.

Please read the Readme_First.pdf file included in the zip file.
It has been revised for this release and contains important information about how to upgrade the boot block in your FlashScan and/or AutoCal devices.

Make sure you update your FlashScan (and/or AutoCal) firmware and boot block using the latest *.ffw files from the \Program Files\EFILive\V8\EFILive_Hapi\ folder.

The Readme.txt file in the PID Descriptions folder has been updated. It contains new information about adding PID selections to the Options.ini file.

    Regards
    Paul

I thought I used to be able to run the readiness tests from the flashscan. Is there any plans to re-implement this feature, or am I just missing something?

I updated to the latest firmware release and "DMA" PIDs still don't work for my car. I reformated the 'Config Files' folder and copied the new files to it.

Am I doing something wrong or does it have anything to do with that I have a 6 speed which is a different OS (19980400) from the A4 ?

    Default BBL 5-03-08 issues

    1) "Shift" key doesn't work for moving files from "Config folder" to "Config Tab".

    2) First tried to connect to "LB7 Auto" and display data. Everything came up zeros for data. Tried to connect to "LB7 Manual" on the same truck and displayed actual data. Tired to connect to "LB7 Auto" 2nd time and displayed actual data.

    3) Trying to record data "LB7 Auto" or "LB7 Manual" results in Error $0185 .

You can't "run the tests", the controller will automatically run the tests ONLY when the conditions are right. (See GM drive cycle in Scan Tool User Manual).
The pass/fail status of the tests are stored as trouble codes.
I think what you are asking for is the supported/not supported and/or ready/not ready status of the tests. In that case, monitor the PIDs:

MONDTC [4] Monitor Status Since DTCs Cleared
    and/or
MONDRIVE [4] Monitor Status This Ignition Cycle

Those PIDs contain the readiness tests' status. I will add a specific option to display those status values without having to explicitly log/monitor those two PIDs.

My mistake, the DMA PIDs are only working in OSs:
    19970100
    19970200
    19980100
    19980200

They are not working correctly for OSs:
    19980300
    19980400

    Will get it fixed asap.

You are correct. I meant to say "display" the status of the readiness tests. I swear there used to be a menu in the flashscan that would say NA/Pass/Pending/Fail for each item, but maybe I was using my laptop.

Hmm, the reason 19980300 and 19980400 do not support DMA PIDs is that those two Os's should not get reported by the Scan tool. They are only reported by the tuning tool to differentiate between some 1998 C5s. All 1998 C5's should all report 19980200 in the Scan Tool software and in FlashScan.

Are you sure your OS is displayed as 19980400 by FlashScan?
Try the menu option: F2 Scan Tool -> F2 Diagnostics -> F1 Display Vin/Info. What OS is displayed?

Yes there was in V2.04.xx firmware, I just have not re-implemented it in V2.05.xx yet. I will add it for the next update.
