    Default using a mates mSD tune on same model

    hi all.
    have a vx commodore and a mate has had an efilive SD tune done on his same model car

    mine has same mods an im wondering if i can just puul the tune from his car and put it into mine or is there more too it than that like with the vins etc

    Welcome to the forum TTVN.

    Technically the answer to your question is yes. You can download his tune and flash your PCM. However, there is no guarrantee that you'll be satisfied with the way your car runs with someone elses tune.

    For the most part, the tuning community utilizes "other" tunes as a reference or a guide the types of tuning modifications for various setups. And at the end of the day, each PCM must be tuned for the engine it is controlling.

    So in otherwords, it would be better to consider your mates tune as a reference or a starting point for you.

    thanks mate

    i have a wideband but need to get it reconfigured to the 0-5v for the v2

    but i can watch the afrs to make sure its ok and make manual adjustments to suit till i get logging

    as you stated i just wanted a good place to start without the mrs getting cranky cos the cars chewing fuel or flat spots etc
