    Default Tuner not correctly following live scanner data?

    Just happend to notice today while tweaking the map in AutoVE mode that when I enable live tracking in the tuner software, it doesn't correctly follow the live data. The RPM actually follows the correct cell, however the MAP row if well off. At idle for example I typically see 55kpa @ 800rpm, but when observing the Main VE table in the tune tool it highlights the 15kpa row at the correct 800rpm cell. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

    make sure the PID is the same units as the table you are linked to.
    if MAP is kPa for the table then the PID must be set to kPa.
    FYI imperial units do not match for some tables in the tune.
    example: for {B0101} imperial units are PSI but imperial units for PID SAE.MAP is inHg.

    make sure this isn`t your problem.

    This is the safest thing to do:
    - in scantool on PIDs tab, on MAP do rightclick->Metric, exit scantool.
    - in tunetool go Edit->Configure Display Units, on B0101 do rightclick->Column display units->Metric; repeat for any other table that uses MAP; click OK in bottom right corner, exit tunetool;

    Now you're all ready to go, the MAP values should agree.

    See for more info:

    So could I change everything to imperial and as long as they are the same it will work?

    MAP has two imperial units: psi and inHg....

    I think you may be better off using metric units for MAP (kPa)...
    pid linking on metric MAP seems to work easiest.

    I use imperial units for speed, trans pressure, temperature, HP, TQ;
    I use metric units for everything else.
