Default Crackling in exhaust on light accelleration

    Hello,

Quick question... what is the likely cause of crackling or popping in the exhaust upon light accelleration? Lean/rich? Timing too advanced / too retarded? Does anyone have a symptom / cause chart that lists common performance issues and potential tuning causes?

    Thanks,
    Bobby

Honestly I doubt it has anything to do with the tune. All i know is my truck did the same thing with the stock exhuast and now does it with after market exhaust so i had a friend get under there and it sounded like it was actually pieces of metal in the drive shaft. In my cases it only crackled when I would first put it in gear or barely tap the gas.
