    Default Commodore tunes

    Hey peoples,
    Does anyone know how a 2000 VT sedan 220kw, and a 2003 VY2 ute 235kw, will go using a VY2 hsv tune?
Any thoughts or comments on Kw and Nm gains and fuel econemy would be appreciated on that.
And also, to do this, do you just do a full reflash using flashscan V1 or V2?

    Thanks in advance.

It would make a reasonable difference for sure and as long as you have similar mods to the HSV , ie headers , exhaust, bigger MAF Pipe, and CAI on airbox you should end up roughly the same , 285 fwkw.

Many are useing the HSV tunes for a base tune then tweeking it from there.

On the VY ute, a full reflash with the HSV file should be fine, just make sure you use a file with the same transmission, once flashed in you will need to check that the diff ratio is set the same as your oriiginal tune file or your speedo will be off, as well as trans shift points in an auto.

Same with the VT but you will also need to copy and paste all the injector tables from your original file into the newly loaded HSV file as the VTs have smaller injectors and a different manifold.

    Hope that helps some.

    Thanks Johnv,
    That helps me lots.

Could i use the VT hsv injector tables for the VT for improving power or should i stick to the standard VT tables?
But i would like it to use less fuel too. Are there any injector tables out there ready to download that i could add to the VY2 HSV tune to achieve this?

You could just use a VT 250 kw tune file, but a vy II 285 file with your original injector tables would prob be a better start.

For improved fuel economy make sure "lean cruise" and "DFCO" are both activated , and also make sure you run good fuel - 95 premium minimum, or low octane tables will be used by the PCM reduceing power and increasing fuel consumption.
