    Default Injectors

Hey all I am currently running FI at 7psi with 36lb injectors in a manual VT m6. The problem I am having is the injectors are going above 100% duty cycle reaching the mid 120's at times.

Apart from going to 42lb injectors which I know will fix this prob is there anything else I can do to combat this problem.

Here is a copy of the tune

    Thanks in advance.

Fuel pressure is not the problem I believe as my mates VZ which is blown does the same thing, we are both running around the same boost, same injectors, both gen3's and both get around the same duty cycle, well over 100% high revs etc. Any other thoughts

You can either install higher flowing injectors or raise your fuel pressure. Changing the injectors will likely be the easier of the two options. I would recommend keeping the IDC below 80% until you can fix the problem (read stay out of boost).

is the IDC you are seeing from a dyno or scan tool ?

what fuel pressure and fuel system are you running and what KW is it putting out

Looking at the logs I would be checking fuel flow and pressure at the top end of the run , std pump is very average at best , VZ is actually worse than the early ones.
At the boost level you are at the 36lb injectors should be sufficient.

Hey Dan do you think the addition of say a Walbro intank pump in the original cradle will go anywhere toward fixing this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

It may help but some of the issue is how the pump is fed.

Far better to use the original pump to feed a swirl pot at low pressure and then use a decent pump setup to supply the engine , clever setup means you can still use the in tank regulator

Do you have a pre made system suitable for my application, if not can you suggest one?

    Thanks Nigel
