    Default Full flashing

I noticed when I upgraded to a dsp5 OS that I couldn't get the full flash icon to show up, it was grayed out. I kept restarting the tune tool, re-opening the tune. Finally at some point it showed up. I realized after playing with it for a while that the full flash icon will only show up if I plug in my V2 before opening the tune tool software. I can unplug it and it won't disappear. But it won't show up if I start the tune tool first. Is this normal?

You are correct, you have to plug in V2 first before opening software.

That's strange because I only have to do it for full flash. I can do it any way I want to read or just flash new calibrations in.

    The usual recommended order is:
    1. key on,
    2. connect FS to OBD-II port on vehicle,
    3. connect FS to USB port on PC/laptop,
    4. start scantool and/or tunetool software.

1->2 allows FS V2 to pick the correct protocol.
3->4 allows software to enable "commercial" features (but, all V2's are "commercial").
