    Default LS1 Engine Oil Pressure- HTF do i log it?

    Used the search button and come up with a few threads that said to create a calculated pid to read the eops pid but i cant be f'd.

    Has anyone got a calculated pid for the latest version of efilive that'll allow me to just enable it like the good old days.

    Cheers

    Are you sure that the oil pressure sensor is hardwired to the PCM/ECM? Some early models had it hardwired to the cluster and it is not "seen" by the engine computer.

    its a commodore, so we have an engine oil pressure sensor.

    Using the old v7.3 software you could select a pid to log oil pressure, but it wont see my v2 device.

    apparently you need to create a calclulated pid for ls1 based engines. but i have no idea on how to do it. I've tried to follow the steps but it's all gobildy gook to me.

    You want to add something similar to the following to the "calc_pids.txt" file which is in the "C:\My Documents\EFILive\V7.5\User Configuration" folder.

    # See sae_generic.txt for more information on the *UNITS section
    *UNITS
    #Code System Abbr Description
    #-------- ---------- -------- -------------------------------------------------------------
    PSI Imperial "PSI" "Pounds Per Square Inch"
    # ================================================== ============================
    # Add slot definitions here
    # --------------------------------
    # See sae_generic.txt for more information on "SLOT" formats
    #
    #Units Low High Fmt Expression
    #------------ ------------- ------------- ---- --------------------------------------------------------------
    *CLC-00-043
    PSI 0.0 150.0 0.0 "({GM.EOPS}*32)-16"
    # ================================================== ============================
    *PRN - Parameter Reference Numbers
    # --------------------------------
    # See sae_generic.txt for more information on the *PRN section
    #
    #Code PRN SLOT Units System Description
    #------------------------- ---- ------------ ---------------- ---------------- ---------------------------------------

    The PID was configured wrong in 7.3, the oil pressure PID was infact oil pressure sender voltage manipulated to show oil pressure for an LS1. What this meant was on every other vehicle but the LS1 the oil pressure PID was wrong.
    At some point we changed the PID to show the Oil Pressure sender voltage and then added a calculated PID (which is what Ninety8C5 showed above).

    Cheers,
    Ross

    thanks guys. i will use that when i get home from work tonight.

    I logged a car yesterday and it was only getting 0.8v at idle with a max of 2 at wot.

    which means it has a low 12psi and 40psi above 3000rpm. looks like oil pump is shagged or blocked.
