    How high is too high?

    I just loaded a tow tune a very mild one about 30 hp. WOT I have seen 1200.

    I want more power!! How high can you go and still be safe???



    2001 chev d-max lb7 all stock except efilive
    2001 chevy duramax LB7 extend. cab short box 4WD
    EFIlive w/tow tune 285/75-16 dueler revos. pyro and boost , everything else stock.

    I think you're fine. You won't be at 1200 sustained. I've seen as high as 1400 on mine WOT from a dead stop.

    I have buried my 1600 gauge when sled pulling. The main thing is you don't want them hot (say above 1300-1400) for an extended period of time. short runs you should be ok.

    Thanks for the info! I can see this need for more power won't be stoppin real soon.

    That is high if your only adding 30hp your timming plays into how hot it will get.

    There have been guys that have claimed up to 2000 degrees pulling and still nothing is wrong yet.
