Default noob needs help on what to buy

Hi guys, I have an LS1/T56 swapped '52 chevy truck and Im ready to make it all run. I think its a 2001 FBW Vette motor that originally had a manual behind it, and the T56 is out of an SSR.

Im looking at getting EFI Live to tune it, but which setup do I want/need? For now I just want the truck to run by deleting vats, emissions, changing for tire size/gearing...just simply make it run and throw no codes. Eventually I want to have fun and cam the engine and tune for it all and such so I do want the head room to be able to do a full on tune.

It doesn't seem like I need flashscan, but is flashscan the actual tuning software?

I just need to know what I need to buy so I can get to playing. TIA to anyone who can help, and I apologize for such an elementary question.

assuming you will be using an LS1 PCM,
the V1 will do but if you have plans for GEN4 later on or
want serial WBO2 and eventually BBF then the V2 is the one.
    512k RoadRunner Firmware 12.14R
    FlashScan V2 Bootblock V2.07.04 Firmware V2.07.22 EFILive V7.5.7 (Build 191) V8.2.1 (Build 181)
    LC-1 WBO2

    CD, welcome...

VATS, Emissions, Tire/Gear size: you need the tuning software and the FlashScan interface.

FlashScan: this is the interface, V1 or V2, is required for logging and flashing.

V1 will do what you need, it also has black box logging (BBL).

V2 is more advanced, it has an LCD display (shows logging PIDs when doing BBL), and it does BBL and you can set alarms (e.g. buzz if knock > 2 degrees); it will evetually also support black box flashing (BBF) [currently in development]; it also supports serial (digital) AFR from the more popular widebands (e.g. look at the LC-1 user manual, the serial comms section); it also supports later model vehicles.

The software (scantool and tunetool) is free...
you can try the actual software (without the FlashScan interface you can still view log files and edit tune files,
actual real samples provided, also see www.holdencrazy.com )

Download V7.5 and V8 (both) and install from here:
    http://www.efilive.com/index.php?opt...=48&Itemid=124

Seems like a lot of money, but it is your biggest mod and biggest tool...

    Cheers
    Joe

The license on your friend's FlashScan won't transfer to your own FlashScan...
i.e. doing that would require 2 licenses.
