    Default Problems with efi explorer

I have been way out of the loop with updating my efi program

I was looking around on the v2 and seen there was an update for the bootblock. so i updated it and it stayed in deadpoll mode all night.

i currenty have bootblock ver: 2.05.04 on the v2 and i tried downgrading the firmware to 2.05.14 but it dont do it, it stays at ver:2.05.21

and every time i try to open up the explorer now it will freeze and wont respond, unless i run it as administrator with the v2 in deadpoll mode. and i then try to change versions of the firmware and it will reboot the v2 after its done flashing the 2.05.14 version in, but everytime i look it up on the v2 it reads out 2.05.21

this is really getting on my nerves

    upgrading your V2 bootblock/firmware...

the upgrade involves many steps, but is easy if you understand the document.

Failure to understand the document may cause you various headaches.

    Danny,

    I pm'd Tech Support...

    Run EE as administrator.

What firmware/bootblock versions was in V2 before you started updating...?

    Read this:

If you attempt to program firmware other than V2.05.14 when the boot block is V2.05.04, then your FlashScan device will fail to operate. In that case you MUST manually place FlashScan in dead-poll mode and program firmware V2.05.14 into FlashScan to recover FlashScan.
Remove the USB cable, reconnect while holding Crtl key down, now try programming firmware 2.05.14, when finished remove USB cable and reconnect it.

If that works, then do this:
B If FlashScan has boot block V2.05.04 please perform these steps:
    1. Program firmware V2.05.14 (unless V2.05.14 is already installed in your FlashScan).
    2. Program boot block V2.06.02.
    3. Program the highest version number firmware file from the folder:
    \Program Files\EFILive\V8\Firmware

I was running EE as admin, that was the only way i was able to change the firmware update. i was able to change it to any version after V2.05.14, but everytime i tried to change it to V2.05.14 it would skip the memory reset and skip straight to rebooting the v2 and then HAPI would freeze and EE would not respond after that forcing me to close them.

I dont remember the last version bootblock/firmware i was running. the last time i did update it was on the old v7 updater, not using EE

Every time i tried to program v2.05.14 into the v2 it would skip the reflash and just reboot the v2.

after i d/l and reinstall the v7.5 and v8 in the correct order ill try it again. it will be about 15 minutes.

    thanks for the help
