Most GM's are the ten minute cycle... Waiting out a Malibu after lock cylinder replacement as we speak.....
Most of them go as follows.... turn key on, attempt to start, vehicle will not start, theft light should be flashing. Wait ten minutes or so until theft light goes out. Shut key off, wait two minutes, turn key on and attempt to start vehicle, should start then, if not leave key on again until theft light stops blinking. Sometimes it will take in 10 minutes, sometimes it will do the long cycle that takes a half hour or three attempts!!
