    Default LMM PID's

    Hi,
set up the scan tool for the first time today and performed my first log.
I have a couple of questions,
1- When i tried to load a new PID for my LMM duramax it was not present, so i ran with the Duramax PID's is this correct or shout I be loading all the things I want to monitor and creat my own?
2- Will my selections be tranfered over to the dashboard for monitoring?
3- I have a DSP5 switch, can I set one over the gauges to monitor voltage.

I also notices that my boost was at 14psi at ideal, is that possable?

Sorry for all the questions, new to the game and want to learn how to run this thing properly.
    Thanks
I will continue to keep reading the scan tune book, but it has not been easy to understand LOL ! if any one can point me in a good direction to learn this stuff would be helpfull.
    Thanks again

    1. The standard PID lists are just defaults. Ultimately you need to select those PIDs that are going to help you with the current modification you are making to the calibration.

    2. The graphs/gauges are pre-configured to present values for specific PIDs. If you change the PID selection and wish to have the data presented on a graph/gauge you will need to change the graph/gauge properties. Remember that the selected PIDs data can be viewed on the F9 Data tab of the Scan Tool.

    3. Select the GM.DSP5_VOLTS_DMA PID located in the Diesel section.

After you select the pids to log, goto the dash tab, and do Save As with a new dash filename... then start changing pids on the charts...

Notice that Dash B consists of 4 or more charts... in each chart you can rightclick in one of its 4 corners and select a pid to go in that corner... do this on each corner, and do rightclick->Properties, set the min/max limits and color of each pid, and click Save.

    Thanks
Any idea whey the boost psi would read 14psi at idle? and is there a way to correct this?

    Which boost pid...?

14.5 psi is barometric pressure... you might have to subtract 14.5 from that pid.
