    From the error codes pdf:

$0185 F_ERR_NOTFOUND A file or folder was not found. You may need to copy a required file to
    FlashScan or AutoCal using
    EFILive_Explorer.
Or you may need to format the target file
system, see description for error $0182
    above

There are 2 ways to data log using V8 software, based on the steps you've outlined above using V8 software we have no idea knowing which option you used.

    1. Pass-thru logging- To access this, connect FlashScan V2 to your vehicle and PC, then launch V8 Scan and Tune software. Navigate to [F2: Scan], select your ECM and PID's.

    2. BBL - To setup standalone logging , connect FlashScan V2 to your PC, then launch the V8 Scan and Tune software. Navigate to [F5: BBX] -> [F2: Scan]. Select you controller and PID's and PROGRAM your FlashScan device so it receives the correct configuration files to all standalone logging. This knowledgebase article should assist you in configuring your FlashScan for black box logging (BBL) https://support.efilive.com/kb_artic...6659-YAHB-3781

Saving saves the selections to your PC for later use - so that you don't need to redefine the setup should you wish to access it or change it in the future.

Program copies the selections made into the software onto your FlashScan.

Save writes to a file on your PC.

Program writes it to your V2... you have to do this.

If you configured Custom units in BBL, then on the FSV2 keypad ENTER toggles between Default units and Custom units.
