My ecm has issues and I need to remove the EFI live so I can replace the ecm and reinstall EFI live on my new ecm. How do I go about doing this?

Do you have an EFILive FlashScan or AutoCal cable? Did you self-tune your truck or purchase tunes from a tuner/shop?

Ok, I moved your thread to Tuning->Diesel->Duramax LB7 where it will get more traction.
( sorry I don't know the answer for diesels, I'm not an oil burner )
It doesn't work in the way of "return to stock" then reused on a new ECM.
The tune and a VIN license will need to be updated/purchased for the new ECM.
What SASDakota said ... IT's not like a hypertech or SCT programmer where you can reclaim the tune. you need to save a copy so you can reflash it once you have licensed the new pcm.

Didn't efi just release a tool to unlock said key and format the CAL area to be reset with stock or tuned cal?
