    Default Instructions for l5p ecm swap inside...

    Ok guys, If you ever have a dead ecm, or want to use a spare ecm on your L5p trucks, 2017 + Instructions are simple.

    If you use an avto kommander for the unlock proceedure, it gives you a stock file. BUT there is also a setting to read out the stock backup. Do, that, and you always have a backup of the injectors, and learned data and does not require a license to save, or put back into a different ecm.

    If you do that, then you do not have to do all the vin and relearns when you install the different ecm.


    As for the selection of ecms, It is better to buy a USED ecm instead of a New one. That way you have to do less relearns manually unless you have the oem tools..


    So, if using a used ecm, do the unlock, then you can flash in a tune for the truck and make sure that you just shut off vats, and the antitheft dtcs, and then the truck will start without any messages on the screen..


    {I130001} Relearn Count 1
    {I130002} Relearn Timer 1
    {B3235} VATS function enabler 0 or disabled.

    Then shut off this code.


    P0513: Incorrect Immobilizer Key disabled



    Then in the efilive software OBD tab, go to the VIN tab, and change the vin to the one in the truck.


    Now you have a working used ecm in the vehicle..
