Default Question on one tune for different vehicles

Need some insight on this situation:

Have an Autocal married to Car A
Have another Autocal married to Car B

(both are the same type of vehicle)

Have sperate aftermarket tunes for each vehicle on each Autocal

For Car A I _also_ have a tune which is a slightly modified aftermarket tune. It is not in use.

I copy the modified tune from Autocal A to AutoCal B and it installs on Car B

So the modified tune I have for Car A can be used on the other vehicle? Perhaps only when it's not currently installed? Is this normal or if the modified tune not locked down by the creator for some reason?

I'm just trying to understand how this would normally work and how it applies to my situation. Hope I explained that correctly.

The license is tied to the ECM/PCM processor serial number so if both Vehicles are using the same operating system its possible.

Are both AutoCals from the same tuning company? If this worked at all, I'm guessing yes.

If it's the same vehicle (e.g. 2014 Corvette auto), then the ECM OS' could very well be the same.

The tune file itself must be saved a specific way to all for flashing via AutoCal, but it's up to the tuner during that process whether to lock that particular tune file to a specific AutoCal serial number (or even more granularly, an ECM serial number). Been a bit since I've been deep in AutoCal land, so double check these use cases are valid. So if this is still the case, this tuner did not lock the tune file to a AutoCal or ECM serial.
