    Default rev limiter

I am having trouble finding where to change my rpm limit. I was wondering if anyone could explain to me? Also I am having some problems flashing my computer on my 1998 5.0, It always comes up some type of error. Im not real sure, I havn't had time to mess with it much.

Next time you try to flash can you please try to take closer note of the error, we should be able to assist once you do that.

    Cheers,
    Ross

P.S - What RPM are you trying to rev to?

I haven't had time lately to use my efi live, but I flashed it again and had no problems. I am still wondering about the rev limiter?

I noted an error in the Vortec PCM (98-00) OS: 16263425

B1200 Desired Idle Speeds have the In-Gear and In P/N tables reversed.

I could not find a Rev Limiter either.

The 96-2000 Original Vortec Truck with the Black PCMs will not rev past 5800 RPM. Supposedly its upper limit is hard programmed into the PCM. Maybe that is why there is no table for it. (This is just speculation on my part)
That is one reason why I installed the 12200411 LS based PCM into my 98 twin turbo truck. The other reason is that EFILive has Custom Operating Systems for that PCM--Which I am now running!

The Rev limiter is in the calibration. The real limiter is the injector size. Either increased cubic inches or a big cam will be limited by fuel delivery, that might seem like a rev limiter.

    Hey Al,
I also have Tunercat ( I am NOT a Tuner ) I could not get my truck to go over 5800RPM No matter what I set the Fuel Cut vs RPM vs Gear. This was with a Ramjet intake and 24lb Ford inj. As soon as I installed the 0411 PCM with an Express Van calibration and raised the RPM limit it went to 6200 before I let out of it. I have seen this topic on 3 boards now and noone seems to have gotten the black PCM past 5800. I am NOT disputing you!
But there are a lot of guys trying it and can't seem to get higher than 5800.
With or without the RPM limit, I am Extremely pleased with the 0411 PCM.
