    A quick tip on internal memory vs the SD card.

    Internal memory is about 2MB, which will give around 30 min worth of logging on an E38, less if logging a TCM as well.

    Approximate tune file sizes (ctz) are as follows...

    • LS1B - 0.44 MB
    • E40 - 0.91 MB
    • E38 - 1.7 MB
    • E39 - 2.7 MB
    • T42 - 0.44 MB
    • T43 - 1.56 MB

    I have been trying to get my v2 back up to date and I have downloaded the latest software and am trying to get the v.8 software up and running. After programing the pids in v.8 and saving I switched over to the tools section and selected the convesion as directed. What is this doing? It states no .ctd files were found and no files were converted. verifying .ctz files, no files were verified. What am I doing wrong?

    First do this: click on the "..." button and browse to the folder where your .tun files are located.

    Thanks for the reply, thats what I am doing. I dont have the files saved in the V7.5 or V8 folders because when I go to save them they dont display available in the save as folder, I have them saved to a desktop folder. Could this be my problem? The files are saving as a .tun file and not a .ctd file. What is the difference between the .ctd, .ctz, and the .tun files?

    .tun = V7 tunetool old format
    .ctd = V8/V2 format, not used any more
    .ctz = V8/V2 format

    Move your .tun files from the desktop to My Documents\EFILive\V7.5\Bins (or similar for Win 7/8); note that this path is settable in scantool, goto Edit->Properties->Folders).

    From the V7 tunetool you can save a tune file as .ctz, go File->Save Tuning File As, and select .ctz as the type.

    RC2 replaces those with 225 and 219 respectively.
