Hey all!

A little background on the setup:
Built Sonnax 4L60e
Precision Triple disk converter
Efilive V1

Ive got a problem. I cant seem to get my built 4l60e to lock the converter using the bidirectional controls. I can drive it and hit the "TCC Enable Solenoid" button and set the "TCC control solenoid" to 100% and it will lockup.....but it doesnt stay locked. However, Ill lock it in 3rd using the bidirectional controls and it wont downshift which is what its supposed to do, but then I make a pull in 3rd and the car will show about 800-900rpm converter slip speed and the TCC mode stays on "OFF".

It seems like the controls only work sometimes. Is there a problem with my car/cable/efilive? Is there anyway I can FORCE it to hold 3rd gear and lock the converter so I can get a clean pull for tuning?

Thanks in advance,
Anthony

I have the same issue. Nothing I do works. I wasted an hour of dyno time yesterday trying to get this stupid thing to lock up. I am using the V2 in an 07' TBSS. I just wrote another tune last night to not allow it to shift into 4th or down shift into 2nd. What is the deal?

Log the TSTATEnn pids, some of those contain bit flags indicating the reason for TCC unlock.

BTW, also, fix these:

I also had that problem with a 4L65E / T42. Could not get the convertor to stay locked on the dyno. Wasted a trip to the dyno. I have asked about this problem before but I don't think we got anywhere with it??

I just wrote another dyno only trans tune. I set it up to no allow the shift to 4th and not let it kick down to 2nd. I will have to lock the converter that way also. Mine wouldn't even hold the gear. I am not even really worried about the converter right now. A guy I know with HPT told me that you have to set up the CGCL's in the diagnostic portion of the trans tune to allow the DVT to work. I am not seeing what he is talking about. Just a bunch of fault actions.

Cgcl = ?

Cgcl = ?

That's what I said. I have no idea what cgcl is. One question I do have is for the kick down to 2nd, do I lower it to 20mph or so or do I set it at 140mph or so? For some reason it is messing with my head if preventing the kickdown is done by raising or lowering the mph.

I had those fault messages come up on the dyno through the DVT panel too, and I don't think it matters what you tell it to do in the tune either. Something from the TCM is telling it to unlock the convertor clutch and I suspect its something to do with high torque loads its seeing (or assuming). A solution on here would be great?

Like I said above. I would be glad if I could just get it to hold a gear. The torque converter lock up would be a bonus.

PT upshift table: raising the curve above the achievable MPH inhibits the upshift.
PT downshift table: lowering the curve to zero MPH inhibits the downshift.

Thanks Joe. To make sure I am understanding your first sentense. I need to set my Throttle Kickdown tables (D2061-D2069 for 3-2) to 318 (the limit) for 100% TPS? AND then use my Part Throttle upshift/down shift tables as per described above.

Yes, correct.

Post your file so I can check it.
