    Default Running lean after tune

I was dyno tuned a couple months ago but recently switched to AFR 225 heads to increase cr from 8:1 to 9:1 and adjusted the tune likewise. I had a buddy of mine check/retune and he said my VE and MAF were right on. The problem is that my LTFT's are at +25% and I keep getting a lean code for Banks 1 and 2. He told me to check to make sure my MAF was plugged in correctly(which should be since we did not unplug it) and to clean it. Also, to check my 02 sensors to see if they are plugged in correctly. I am going to but some MAF cleaner and spray the MAF just to make sure it is clean and plugged in correctly.

What could be causing my lean condition?

Also, I noticed that when logging if my tune file is also open I can see where I am at during driving as far as the Main VE table and/or Spark tables go but the Main VE table is not referencing the same Kpa as the log.

    Anyone

I don't want to drive it if I am truly running lean especially with an annoying "Check Engine Light".

Do you have a wideband installed in the car? Were the injectors/regulator modified? The heads were all that was modified and the fuel trims went from 0 to +25?

    Hi SRT10KLLR,

    You need to set up the units for MAP to be the same in both the scantool and tunetool (set them both to kPa);

have a look st at these thread:
    showthread.php?t=7585
    showthread.php?t=164
    showthread.php?t=1757
    showthread.php?t=2722

Basically in the tunetool go Edit->Configure Display Units and find B0101 and set the row/col units to Metric.

If your LTFT's are that much positive then you may have some airleaks.

Can you post your log and tune files...

Here is my tune and log.

BTW, my Main VE table has Kpa and so does my log but they may not be reading the same thing.

I swapped out to 60lb injectors a while back ago and had it tuned with them. Since then I only switched heads and removed the cats. Right after the head swap I retuned on a Mustang dyno and have run with positive 15-18 LTFT's. I made a tune based on the first dyno tune with the old heads and the new tune with the new heads and used that as a base for this last tune.

A buddy of mine made a couple changes but said the VE table was pretty much "dead on" and the MAF needed very little adjusting. An Innovate LM-1 was used for the tuning and it was done on the street.

Joe, I used your suggestion and was able to find that the PID was in Imperial instead of Metric even though the screen showed it as kPa.

    Thanks

BTW, I know that log was pretty long. I was driving home(about a 45 min drive) and made about 9 logs on the way.

    SRT10KLLR,

So now your log->tune MAP kPa linking is working correctly...?

Long logs are fine, I have some hour long logs...

Be aware that you have 35 channels selected in your log (update rate is 5 samples/second)...
If you get the channel count to 24 or less, you will update at 10 samples/second.
(see channel count at bottom of PIDs tab display).

    Cheers

Yes, the MAP kPa linking is working now, thanks again.

When the tuning was being made the channel count was a lot lower.

Did you see anything wrong/out of the ordinary in my log. I have more logs but they are also from the same drive home.

I looked at the log and tune files briefly and they looked fine to me...
I can look at them in more detail later today (when I boot up Windows ).
