I was looking through some of the pid lists on v8 so I could do the logging for auto ve and couldnt find all the pids I needed. Is there a tutorial on using the v2 to bbl to do an auto ve? Thanks

I use the BBR & BBF options regularly, but prefer to conduct "pass through" logging using a Notebook computer. My understanding is that the V2 can't directly display / integrate CALC PIDs into it's own log file (BBL), but that the BBL file can be configured via "V7 compatibility options" to link (and display) predetermined CALC PIDs when the BBL file is opened in the V7 Scan Tool.
Not sure if the absence of CALC PIDs was part of your issue ....

Yeah I think that was an the maf freq I couldnt find either. My laptob battery sucks so I was hoping to do it this way. Im way new to this I had my friend help me with it and hes never used v8 or the v2 and I wasnt much help cause I wasnt sure what all he was looking for
Shouldnt be an issue, Ive setup a Calc.VE PID set on an AutoCal no problem. Just make sure you add the proper PIDs to the V7 icon in the BBX Scan window so when you open the log file in V7.5 they are already selected. V2/ACs cant display CALC PIDs, that is a scan tool side only.

2013 Sonic RS Manual - 1.4L I4T E78, tuned, turbo mods, etc.
2008 TrailBlazer SS 3SS AWD Summit White - LS2 E67/T42, bolt ons, suspension, etc.
2002 Chevy TrailBlazer LT 4X4 Summit White - 4.2L I6 P10, lifted, wheels, etc.
You can BBL the MAF frequency - V8 PID is "MAFFREQ" - found under the "PCM" module heading.
It seems possible to configure the V2 to log data for the AutoVE process - I have never done it - seems you would need to link all requisite CALC PIDs in V8, prior to programming the PIDs into the V2. The subsequently logged data would then have to be opened in the V7 Scan Tool - to incorporate any CALC PIDs.

If by "custom" PID you mean a "CALC" (calculated) PID - then the answer is no. Must be linked to V7.

Crap well ok I have some CALC for the E10 fuel we have here so looks like I have to use the laptop.
Correct. The V2 will not calculate any data at all. It's simply a recorder for the data coming from the engine management system.
However, you can set up the V2 to automatically include the "place holders" for calculated PIDs ( like the BEN data) in the V2 PID selection lists. This means they are available in the log file when viewing in ScanTool without the need to select them from the PID list. You can also set a default dashboard in the PID list so it is selected when the log is opened.

I only worked this one out last week and have done RAFIG and SDautoVE with good results - SDautoVE logs are much longer, which is much better than being restricted by crappy laptop battery life!
