Thread: Restricted Performance Mode

    Default Restricted Performance Mode

gents I'm in need of some help (Again!) I have a customers HSV Maloo in that keeps going into restricted performance mode, when it does this if you clear the DTC from the flash scan it runs fine again for a short while, It constantly shows an immobiliser DTC (its posted at the bottom of this thread) the car to the best of knowledge has had a replacement PCM, Throttle body & throttle pedal before being brought to us. I've also done some logging just incase anybody can spot the problem........

    thanks in advance

Has VATS been re-linked to see if that will clear it?

not to my knowledge but my main priority is to find out why the car keeps going into restricted performance mode

Thats the point bro. You are getting an immobilser issue, potentially related to VATS. Any specific work preceeded the immobiliser issue?

The replacement ECM (E40), was it flashed by HSV TIS? Or did you just get a blank one and then just flash in a full OS out of a stock HSV?

A new and blank ECM must actually be flashed by HSV if used in a HSV or there can be strange and mysterious throttle problems and ECU internal fault errors plus the ESS (Enhanced Security System) problems.

Plus that VIN does not match a VZ Maloo. It Matches a 2005 Holden VZ Monaro/GTO Coupe

I didn't fit the new PCM all I have done is scan it, HSV doesn't exist in the UK so I doubt it was flashed by a HSB TIS and the dealer who worked on it prior to us have HP Tuners.

Might help if you post the tune. Especially if an alternate tuning package has been used .
