Default LC1 connection and other newb questions

Hi there. I purchased a 2000 FRC vette last November and have added a few parts to the car. I just installed an LS6 intake manifold along with headers an X pipe and highflow cats. I have also just purchased EFI live and an Innovate LC1 (which was installed with the headers and X pipe). Do I supply an additional ground to connect the LC1 to the V2 scanner? As far as I can tell I am supposed to use the brown wire from the LC1 for wide band logging and the included adapters have a pos and neg markings for the scanners analog inputs. Also I downloaded what I am assuming is the stock calibration from the PCM, when I tried to open a tun from a 2002 Z06 that was included with the EFI software I get a message stating the tune has a differant OS and no comparison will be attempted. Do I need to flash to a differant OS? Are there tun's posted from members with similar mods and would that be the best route to begin with for a complete newb like myself? Any advice is much appreciated.

You can only compare the same OS as the one you have.

Do you have V1 or V2?
V2 can be connected to Innovate stuff w/serial instead of analog.
The brown & yellow wires go to the positive terminals of the AD inputs, the green wire goes to the negative.

If no green wire then run a separate ground for the AD input.
Keep it separated from the white & blue ground wires.

I have a version 2. So do I just get a DB9 coupler and connect to the black serial input on the LC1? How do I obtain a differant OS? And is there a place to obtain tun files from members with similar mods? Oh ya one more thing. Thank you for responding and the knowledge.

It must be a null modem, a gender-bender will not work.

Hi Dave and welcome to the forum.

With FlashScan V2, it is highly recommended to use serial comms digital AFR if your wideband supports this (and the LC-1 does)...

    V2 serial/digital wideband logging:

    V2 serial/digital AFR input (LC-1):

In particular, see the last link (post #3), study the pic, and follow the link to sfcables.

There are at least two 2002 Z06 PCM files (OS id numbers 12221588 and 12593358), see www.holdencrazy.com as 5.7ute suggested.

The EFILive tunetool allows comparison between two files having the same OS id number.

If you added intake, headers, catback, then you might take a read at each of these tutorials (included with the install of EFILive software):
    - Calc VE Tutorial,
    - Auto VE Tutotial,

then implement the Calc VE tutorial, see here.

This will get VE and MAF corrected part throttle (in closed loop), then extrapolate for WOT, then use wideband to correct WOT.

Also, have a look thru here: Summary Notes.
